We have all gotten those messages, right? The ones where it is painfully obvious someone just wants to ”chat” to sell a program.

I don’t know about you but I can smell bs a mile away. I don’t want to be THAT person and I am sure you don’t either. There is amazing connection to be had in the ol chat box if you approach it the right way.

Next time you see an opportunity to connect with your dream client try this...

CREATE HISTORY

Before you got knocking on that door have some history first. Take a genuine interest in what they share. Leave a thoughtful comment or respond to a story. Follow them back for Pete's sake!

FIND COMMON GROUND

Think about the people you want to work with or have worked with. They stand out in your mind. Why? You made a real connection with them. You found common ground. Send a voice memo or a short video. Have a real conversation and add value.

STAY CONNECTED

If you have done the first two I promise you already stand out. Continue to engage and follow up. When there is a genuine interest in what you have to offer you’ll know it’s appropriate to then set up a call and if not you have still made a great connection and left a positive impression.
